Impulse for your month

I guess you heard a lot about Jesus during the last few days - it's Eastertime, so no wonder that everybody talks about his resurrection.
Sometimes so many people talk about Jesus this time that it becomes almost kind of "normal" that he rose and conquered the grave and the death.
But now I tell you: It's not normal. Or do you think it's an everyday action to become convicted for nothing, hit and finally nailed on a cross? Only one day after coming to Jerusalem like a king? I don't think so. Jesus was treated like that. He was hurt. He suffered in horrible pain at the cross. That's not an everyday action, is it?
And the only reason Jesus beared this misery is... YOU. And me. And everybody living in this world. On Good Friday he was totally left by God. He screamed out his desperation: "My God, my God why have you forsaken me?" (Mt. 27,46)
Shortly after he cried out this horrible sentence in his darkest hour he died. And in that moment the curtain of the temple, which separated the "normal" temple from the sanctum, was torn in two parts, from top to bottom. From that moment on, not only the high priest was allowed and able to go to the sanctum, where God himself was present. Everyone was and is able to go in there, in a symbolic way. When Jesus died, the home of God was opened for everybody. Jesus was left by God for us not being left by him. In Jesus we rise. We live forever as Jesus does in the end. He conquered death.
So, always remember that we are only able to step through the curtain into God's sanctum because of Jesus' death. Without that, the way wouldn't be free.
And in Jesus' resurrection we have the proof of God's love and of our life after death.

The day Jesus slapped
You
Only
Live
Once
in the Face."
